Don’t miss a dive due to a scuba gear issue. Whether it's a blown o-ring, regulator problem, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, you can learn how to manage basic scuba equipment repair & adjustments. As a PADI Equipment Specialist, you are prepared for the gear maintenance, care and adjustments you'll encounter everyday. In addition, you'll learn interesting background information about how your gear works, how it’s repaired and other information that will help protect your dive equipment investment. This course is designed to be a non-technical introduction to basic scuba equipment, how it works, why its designed the way it is, and most importantly, how to care for it and guarantee a long & trouble-free life for your expensive gear. We’ll cover gear from head to toe, and in between, with lots of history, background, and reasons why some pieces of equipment are more appropriate for your style of diving than others.
Our class covers the the selection and care of the key components that nearly every diver should own:
1. Regulators - 1st stage, 2nd stage, Octo & Safe Seconds
2. BCD's (Jacket, Sidemount & Backplate/Wing)
3. Dive Computer / Analog Gauges
4. Lights
5. Exposure Protection
6. Masks
7. Fins
8. Accessories
Bring your own gear and have the opportunity to make this a true hands-on session and get more familiar with caring for your own equipment!
